Dental Implants

Dental Implants are a way to replace missing teeth or to stabilize loose dentures. Dental implants are shaped like a screw and are securely embedded into your bone, just as your natural teeth roots are. After the implant has healed for a period of about 3 months, a natural-looking crown or bridge is attached to the implant. After Dr. Sheets places your new implant, your implant will look, feel and function just as natural teeth do. Dr. Sheets has 20 years of experience in placing implants and therefore, there is no need to go to another office to have any of the procedure done. The entire procedure, from start to finish, is done right here in our office.
Unlike dentures, which are unstable, dental implants are a long-term, dependable means to replacing missing teeth. However, if you have loose dentures, Dr. Sheets can evaluate you to see if you are a candidate to have implants placed to secure your dentures so they are much more comfortable to wear.

Why should I consider dental implants?

If you’ve lost a tooth due to injury, tooth decay or gum and bone disease, there are many reasons to consider dental implants. Once you lose a tooth, the bone that used to support the tooth begins to shrink and, over time, this can cause teeth to shift and loosen from their natural position. Placement of a dental implant soon after tooth loss helps to maintain the bone height and thickness. Dental implants provide a natural-looking and feeling tooth replacement that can offer a more permanent solution as they can last decades with proper care.
